2007 Hanse 400e

Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico

$139,000

The Hanse 400e is a superb racer/cruiser with modern design and construction, large volume interior and a roomy, efficient and finely finished layout with two large cabins. The "e" stands for quality epoxy construction.

Awarded the 2006 European Yacht of the Year, this beautiful 2007 Hanse ‘Red Surge’ has had two owners since new who took great care of her, and the last owner purchased her in 2019 for a cruise around the world.  While health issues got in the way of the grand plan, he added at least $100,000 in upgrades to make Red Surge a true Bluewater cruiser.  ALL the B&G Electronics were installed in 2021. After sailing a couple years in the beautiful BC Gulf Islands, the owner sailed her down to Mexico – the first 800 miles single-handed without issue.  She now resides in beautiful Banderas Bay at Paradise Village in Nuevo Nayarit (aka Nuevo Vallarta) and is ready for the next adventure.  With two cabins, a large master with custom mattress, and plenty of storage, this is a liveaboard boat perfect for a couple or another adventurous single hander.  Red Surge is a fast and comfortable boat built to German standards by Hanse and the model is the 400e or ‘epoxy’ wherein the building technique makes for a very strong yet light boat.

Last haul-out done 2024 for maintenance including oil change and seals replaced in the sail drive. Bottom Paint in Spring of 2021, A 2019 survey available upon request.

Accommodations

Red Surge has the desirable two-cabin, single head layout. This layout provides the roomiest interior - with large forward and aft cabins, large salon, nav table, a spacious  galley and and large storage area aft of the galley with access from the interior and the cockpit.

The forward stateroom features an angled double berth to port, a short wedge-shaped cushion to starboard, a hatch in the overhead, incredible storage including a hanging locker port and starboard.

The salon has a large u-shaped settee to starboard, with a large pedestal table and cabinets outboard.  To port there are Twin swivel armchairs with a navigation table between which is opposite the settee. This can be utilized as a forward facing or aft facing nav table.  And when not navigating, this is a great arrangement for lounging with a side table between the two seats.

The galley is aft to starboard and is L-shaped.  Because the boat was built with the two-cabin layout, the galley extends far aft and provides exceptional storage above and below the counter. Aft of the galley is access to a storage area which can also be accessed from the cockpit.

On the port side is a large head with a separate stall shower. The holding tank is above the water line and is gravity fed overboard when offshore. A door aft of the head opens into the aft cabin, which boast a large double berth, as well as ample storage. A doorway aft of the galley opens onto a roomy lazarette.
